Did the “sequester” happen?

Did the “sequester” happen? Are we doomed? Maybe we still have a few hours to avoid this so-called catastrophe.

The next crisis deadline is March 27. That is when the current funding appropriations end. I don’t know if we call this next deadline a cliff, sequester, or something else. I thought the fiscal cliff phrase would be used for all of our fiscal “emergencies,” but apparently journalists and politicians want to use new words each time.

I’m starting to think the sequester, like the fiscal cliff before it, is just a promotional scam for cable TV news shows. In the long run, nothing much seems to happen, and in fact, as limited as the “cuts” are, nothing much should happen.
